Frequently Asked Questions

  • In the state of New York, you must be at least 18 years of age to get tattooed. No exceptions! It is illegal in the state of New York to tattoo someone under the age of 18, even with parental consent. You must bring a valid, government-issued ID to your appointment. I cannot tattoo you without one.

  • My minimum is $200. The cost of each tattoo varies by piece rather than by hour and the final cost is determined by the size, placement, and design of the tattoo.

  • Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Most people say it’s more uncomfortable than painful. There are areas of the body that are more sensitive than others like areas near bone or joints. We will go at a pace you’re comfortable with so communicate with me of any discomfort.

  • No guests are permitted at this time. Please come to your appointment alone. Refer to ‘COVID-19 Policy’ for more information.

  • Yes. A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of $100 is required to secure your appointment slot. The deposit goes towards the final cost of your tattoo. The deposit can be credited to a future date if you decide to reschedule, at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment. Instructions on how to submit a deposit will be sent to you after we’ve confirmed an appointment date. You will receive an email confirmation of your appointment after a deposit has been made.

  • — Get a good night’s sleep the night before your appointment.

    — Stay hydrated before, during, and after your appointment.

    — Eat a good meal before your appointment. Bring snacks to your appointment.

    — Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before and after your appointment. Not only will I refuse to tattoo you if you’re under the influence, but also alcohol is a blood thinner and the excess bleeding will negatively affect the healing process of your tattoo.

    — Do not take aspirin (Ecotrin) 24 hours before and after your appointment. Aspirin is a blood thinner and will negatively affect the healing process of your tattoo. If you must take a pain reliever, acetaminophen (Tylenol, Aleve) is okay as it is not a blood thinner.

    — Take good care of your skin. Moisturize your skin daily and be sure not to bruise, scratch, or damage the area of your skin where you will be tattooed. If you show up with damaged skin on tattoo area, we will need to reschedule and an additional deposit may be required.

    — Do not shave before your appointment. If you nick yourself on the tattoo area, we will need to reschedule. (Don’t worry about your body hair! It’s normal and it’s part of my job to shave you!)

    — Dress appropriately. Be considerate of the placement and wear clothes (or bring a change of clothes) that allow easy access to the tattoo site. I will have privacy screens and pasties available if needed.

    — Bring something to entertain/distract yourself during your appointment. Things such as a book, music, podcasts, games, or shows/movies can help pass the time and distract you from the pain. This is extremely helpful during longer appointments.

  • The final design will be shown to you on the day of your appointment. I do not send out designs prior to your appointment for copy-right and intellectual property rights. This is for my protections so that my designs are not stolen, reproduced, and/or tattooed by someone else. Any minor changes can be made on the day of your appointment. For any large changes to the design, it may require your appointment to be rescheduled and/or and additional drawing fee of $50 may incur, so it’s important to be as specific as you can on the booking form and during our consultation.

  • The deposit is made for the initial design requested. A change in design is determined on a case by case basis. Most likely your initial deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will need to be made for the new design, so be sure of your tattoo before submitting the deposit.

  • No. I’m currently not taking any commissions unrelated to tattooing. I will not design a tattoo for you to get it done by another artist. If you like my work or one of my designs, please get it tattooed by me. I will not tolerate anyone taking one of my designs to get it tattooed by someone else.

  • Cover-ups are assessed on a case by case basis. I have not had much experience with large cover-ups, and would not be comfortable agreeing to do large cover-ups at this time.

  • Numbing creams change the texture of the skin and can make the tattoo process slightly more difficult. If your pain tolerance is on the lower end and you would like to use numbing cream, please let me know beforehand and I can walk you through the process of applying it before your appointment. Always do a patch test before using any new product.

  • No, tipping is not required. However, as with any service, tipping is always appreciated!

  • Yes! I’m generally at the shop Tuesdays-Saturdays and will take walk-ins as time permits. Any updates on my availability on walk-ins will be posted on my insta stories.
